Morphett Street – Porsche 911T

I must be getting old. There was once a time, not too long ago, when my ideal Porsche was a caged hotrod ’73 Carrera RS replica. And whilst that’s still probably at the top of the list, a dead stock SWB or early LWB 911S or 911T on Fuches is currently running a very, very close second. What something like this red one I spotted one Friday evening lacks in outright speed, it more than makes up for in style and sophistication. Picture picking up a new date and taking her out to dinner in the hills. What’s cooler? Helping her over the roll cage and then trying to explain just why she has to wear a five point harness, or casually opening the passenger door and watching her slide in over the soft leather seat? I thought so.

Could not agree more! Although why a new date, could it not be a long term relation!

Well a long term relation is more likely to know about what it takes, both physically and monetarily, to keep an old 911 running and therefore less likely to be smitten by it. But then again if she's okay with this and still impressed by the 911, then all the better!
