Cruising through the city the other Saturday night at about midnight, I happened upon this pretty little Alfa 1750 GT Veloce. It wasn’t in concours condition, but it was a very respectable, clean car that seems to be well used and enjoyed. Perfect. Produced from 1967-1971, these 105 series Alfa’s aren’t hugely rare at club shows or cruises, but there’s becoming less and less of them around in this condition and it’s always a special treat to see one just parked on the side of the road in its natural habitat.
The Bertone body, styled by a young Giorgetto Giugiaro, is powered by a 1750cc version of Alfa’s famous twin cam four – a happy, revvy little engine. And there’s endless tuning opportunities out there to make these cars as quick and racy as you like. Just spend a little bit of time on UK tuner’s Alfaholics’ website to see what I mean.
But this one, in completely stock and original condition, is one of the last of a dying breed. I think it’s too nice to modify, and probably should just be enjoyed as is.#1750 #Adelaide #Alfa Romeo #Gouger Street #GT Veloce #GTV
