Cars & Coffee Unley – May 2017

The sun was shining bright for another edition of Cars & Coffee Unley, located just outside of the CBD area in Adelaide, South Australia. With the renovations still taking place to the Unley Shopping Centre the car park had a slight construction site element to it, but we were told that the work is nearing completion and are certain that it will be a lovely space once finished.

But none of that changed the base elements that make these events so enjoyable – being up early on a sunny Sunday morning, a fine brew from nearby Bricks & Stones, and an eclectic assortment of some of the most interesting cars you’ll find in Adelaide.

Sometimes the biggest issue with photographing these events is that it becomes such a social morning that you kinda forget to take photographs. You grab a coffee and start chatting, and next thing you know it’s time to go home. That’s not really a negative, though.

As such, AGR didn’t quite manage to get a full photo of one of the standout cars of the event – the first Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio in Adelaide. Never mind, you can kind of see it in the foreground of this shot… and that Z28 Camaro is pretty cool anyway.

One of the benefits of these sorts of events is that you are exposed to new genres of car you might not otherwise have searched for. I’ve never had much exposure to American muscle, but I’m starting to think that they’re really cool and I’d love to own a big V8 for a while. Just a year or two to get it out of my system.

Old and new. So long as your Renault is painted yellow, you can park with these guys.

Who invited this guy? Just joking, we love you Kats.

Cars & Coffee Unley is held on the third Sunday of every month, rail hail or shine. Fingers crossed it will be bright and shining again – see you all on Sunday 18th June at the Unley Shopping Centre.

Too good Andrew! I was beginning to wonder if I had dropped off your email list...

Makes me wish I live "on the flat" rather than in The Hills - but then, I'd probably walk to the event!
